Four athletes, one representing each sport, have been presented with an Athletic Award during the final board meeting on June 9 at 2 p.m. in the Pirate Union Building conference room. Rick Ross, athletic director stated the awards are given to "athletes who exemplify leadership, athleticism, academics and citizenship.

The Peninsula College soccer team will start tryouts Aug. 14 and open next year's season with a scrimmage against the University of Victoria. The nine new recruits add strength to the midfield and speed on the outside, said Chapman. Aaron Oppeltz is a 5'11 defender from Roseburg, OR who reads the game very well.
