The couple spent two years teaching at the International School in Kathmandu and experienced the culture of the area while they were there.

Smitty Parratt, an avid hiker, scientist, and National Park Service naturalist, will share the stories behind the place names from his recently revised classic, Gods and Goblins: A Field Guide to Place Names of Olympic National Park. He has been a naturalist with the park for more than 40 years.
