ASC proposed budget increased by $56,000

The 2009-2010 Associated Student Council's budget increased by $56,000. The $370,000 proposed budget was
approved by the ASC on May 11 by the student finance committee.
The budget is funded through a student and activity fee, which is $7.60 for each credit hours enrolled.
The ASC President Jamie Brown said that most programs' funding increased. Brown emphasized that Educare who
received $59,000 last year, got an increase of $4,720 to total $63,720. Meanwhile, Brown said each sport team received an additional $500 for gas. Each sport team will receive $28,000 in the next budget.
The Finance Committee also increased Port Townsend and Forks extensions' funding by $1000. The total amount for each is $2000.
The budget will be forwarded to President Keegan for approval. The budget year funds July 1 to June 30, 2010.
