Other positive changes are coming this fall for new and returning students. A one-stop service counter for admissions, financial aid, and student development will enable students to get information from one desk instead of four. Trisha Haggerty, Financial Aid, will head the team at the new desk.
Peninsula College's first Bachelor of Applied Science has 14 students receiving degrees. "It is a real milestone for them and for the college," according to President Keegan's congratulations statement on PC's graduation website section produced by Emma Janssen, Information Technology. Along with staffing changes the campus will be under construction again. Building demolition of Maier Hall and buildings F-I begins July 1. According to Deb Frazier, Vice President of Administrative Services said, " We recycled everything we could. 93 percent of all the building materials have been recycled and distributed to facilities that could use them." Some furnishings, cabinetry, storage units have been relocated to Forks and Fort Worden Peninsula College extension sites, the Marine Life Center and Clallam Bay.
Port Angeles High School received items including armchairs, tables, and cabinetry.
Habitat for Humanity will be recycling the ceiling tiles for use in new home construction built in community.
Ten cedar trees are being removed across campus and will be given to the Longhouse for future carving projects.
"The very few remaining items will be recycled and used as fill at future building sites," Frazier said.

It's really unfortunate that so many cuts had to be made, and this will put a lot more pressure on the people whose responsibilities have increased to cover the jobs that no longer have someone assigned to them. (Continued…)
