The anticipated film in the "Twilight Saga: New Moon" caused anxious fans to camp outside of movie theaters to see what was in store for Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson).
As a fan of the books, I was keenly aware of the storyline. Commonly, "the book is always better than the movie." For once I have to disagree.
All seems to be fine with Bella and Edward until on her birthday when things turn dark. Paper cuts in a house full of ravenous vampires don't go over too well. In fear of Bella's safety, Edward and the Cullens' leave Forks. This leaves Kristen Stewart's character highly depressed which was comedic to watch. Until Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) enters. He seems to cheer Kristen Stewart up. Why wouldn't he, with his shirt half off? Plus, he's a werewolf, the arch rival of vampire, one way to spice up a love triangle. In the midst of all this, Robert Pattinson finds himself in a rut with high and might aristocrat of the vampire world, the Volturi, of Italy, include Jane (Dakota Fanning) and Aro (Michael Sheen), both scene stealers.
For me, the Volturi make this film worthwhile. I was not disappointed. The casting for the Volturi, was successful. Each character had an intensity, which left me pleased. Though Volturi is in the film briefly, they were my favorite. It gives a glimpse into what vampire royalty would look like. The Volturi add a dark twist into the series.
"New Moon" was definitely the least favorite book out of the series. With that said, this movie was an improvement. It gets straight to the point, and keeps you interested, the only thing which needs to be worked on, is the acting of the two main stars of the film, which I have a feeling is easier said than done.
